Come and spend a creative day with like-minded people and learn new skills from professional artist Deirdre Nicholls

-
May 22, 2025

10 AM - 4 PM

This day workshop is suitable both for beginners and those wishing to refresh their skills.  The day will start at 10.00 and end at 4pm, with a half-hour break for lunch.  The day will be a combination of tuition on drawing techniques and composition in the morning, followed by a quick refresh on watercolour skills before lunch.

After lunch, you will use what you have learned to create some colour-washed drawings either in your sketchbook or on larger pieces of paper.  There will be plants and flowers available to draw, or if you wish to work from photographs of your own, do bring those.

Weather permitting, you might wish to work outside, so think about bringing warm clothing.

You need to bring your own equipment and lunch. Tea and coffee will be provided. A suggested equipment list will be included emailed with the ticket confirmation. However, you can also email deirdrenicholls@icloud.com.

If you would like to attend this course but the cost would be an issue, there are funded spots available. Please email enquiries@hugoburgefoundation.org for more information.
